Mounted Patrol
The Mounted Patrol Unit of the Rusk County Sheriffs Office is made up of Certified Texas peace Officers and is the official Rusk County horseback unit. The Mounted Patrol Unit is specifically designed for rough terrain searches, manhunts, and search and rescue within the county. This horseback unit also manages crowd control at many big events that are held within the County of Rusk, including but not limited to, football games, Syrup Festival, and rodeo events. The Mounted Patrol is also assisted by a group of horseback riding civilian volunteers referred to as the Mounted Posse.
The Mounted teams are an essential tool in the rugged terrain of Rusk County.
