The Rusk County Sheriffs Office has a unit within the department referred to as the Tact Team.  The Tact Team consists of Certified Texas Peace Officers that are employed with the Rusk County Sheriffs Office.  This unit is made up of Deputies from different divisions within the department.  The main focus of the Tact Team is safe entry and officer and public safety.  The Tact Team usually responds to situations when a no knock entry is required, such as narcotic search and arrest warrants, violent offender situations, and hostage situations.
